Start from a customer
Send a Direct Debit mandate from the customer record without collecting a payment
Use the customer record when you want the customer to authorise Direct Debit now and pay invoices or subscriptions later. This path never takes a collection.
Setup only
Send Direct Debit mandate from the customer does not schedule a first collection, even if the customer has unpaid invoices. Collection starts only when the customer pays an invoice or checkout by Direct Debit, or when an eligible subscription collects under an Active mandate after notice.
Send a customer-specific request
Open the customer
In the dashboard, open the customer who should authorise Direct Debit.
Send the mandate
Choose Send Direct Debit mandate. Review the name and email. You can add an optional message. Confirm, then send.
Customer completes setup
They receive an invitation email with a unique link. On the hosted page, they enter their email and confirm the six-digit code before RevKeen shows any saved contact details or resumable setup state. They then confirm their details and authorise the mandate. RevKeen sends an instruction-received confirmation. When the bank lodges the instruction, they receive Your Direct Debit is now active.
Each customer-specific link is unique. Do not publish it, paste it into a shared ticket, or reuse it for a different customer. If the customer says the details are not theirs, they should choose This isn't me. Send a new request only after you have checked the customer record.
Customer-specific and open signup
| Link type | Use it when | Customer experience |
|---|---|---|
| Customer-specific request | You already have the customer | The initial page is neutral. After the customer confirms the code sent to their email, RevKeen shows the matching non-bank details for confirmation or editing. |
| Open signup request | You do not yet have a customer record | The customer enters contact and address details before bank details |
Never put a customer name, customer ID, address, or bank information in the URL. RevKeen never prefills bank details.
What the customer sees
- Your logo, business name, support details, bank statement name, notice period, and why you are requesting Direct Debit.
- Contact and address details, with assisted address search and manual entry.
- Account-holder name, sort code, account number, and the account-holder and sole-signatory declarations.
- A review of masked bank details, mandate reference, and the Direct Debit Guarantee.
- A receipt that the instruction was received — not that money was taken.
Address suggestions help the customer enter an address. They do not prove identity, residency, or signing authority.
After the mandate is Active
The customer can pay future invoices and checkout links by Direct Debit without setting up again. You still give advance notice before each collection. See Start from an invoice and Start from checkout.
