Help for people paying a business that uses RevKeen — Direct Debit, invoices, and checkout

A business you deal with may use RevKeen to collect payment. This is the plain-language help for that experience: what to expect when you are asked to set up a Direct Debit or pay an invoice, and what to do if something does not look right.

What you'll learn
  • How a legitimate RevKeen payment page looks and behaves
  • The difference between setting up a Direct Debit and paying
  • Where money questions go, and which party answers them
  • How to protect your information during checkout and setup

How you might be asked to pay

Businesses using RevKeen invite payment in a few standard ways: an email asking you to set up Direct Debit, a hosted invoice page, a checkout link, a payment form embedded in their website, or a customer portal.

How a payer can be asked to set up Direct Debit

Every legitimate payment page runs on the RevKeen payment domain with a secure https:// address, shows the business's name, and explains what you are authorising before you confirm.

Do you recognise the request?

Check the business name on the payment or setup page against the request you received. A legitimate page shows who is requesting payment, why, and how to contact them.

Unknown request? Do not continue

If the business name is unfamiliar, the details shown are not yours, or the page does not look right, close it and contact the business using contact details you already trust. Never enter bank or card details on a page you do not recognise.

Setting up a Direct Debit is not paying

A Direct Debit setup page gives the business permission to collect from your account. Completing it does not take a payment. The business still has to give you advance notice of the amount and date before a collection, and the Direct Debit Guarantee protects you.

Full guidance: Set up and manage a Direct Debit.

What happens when you pay an invoice or checkout

On the hosted invoice or checkout, card is instant when it is offered. Direct Debit is a scheduled collection: no money leaves your account today, you receive advance notice before the collection date, and the invoice is marked paid once your bank confirms it.
